Stern Trawler I
A modern vessel for fishing with trawling method, designed to meet the most difficult customer requirements. During construction, full shipbuilding support will be provided, which will significantly reduce the ship's production costs.
Ship purpose
Designed for efficient fishing, processing, freezing and storing fresh caught fish.
Extensive on-board facilities like fish-processing, freezing plant and well trained crew are able to facilitate the entire production process at sea for days or weeks at a time.
Ship power supply and propulsion
Ship main power supply is based on diesel-electric system. Due to multiple diesel power generators the safety of the ship is increased. In case of one gen-set failure there are others that can provide power to continue work. Moreover in case of full blackout there is emergency generator that can supply power for the most important systems allowing ship to maintain maneuverability.
The ship movement is produced by electric engine that drives main shaft to propeller. The use of electric engine provides the possibility to set the speed of rotation starting from 0 RPM. Additionally the hydraulic adjustable propeller blades help to maintain vessel speed for fishing during various sea conditions.
The propeller is situated in the Kort nozzle which improves propulsion efficiency, protects rotating blades from debris, shallow waters and in some cases from entanglement of fishing net.
The vessel is equipped with one thruster situated at the forward end. This thruster is used in combination with a dynamic positioning system, main propeller and rudder which insures vessel control during slow speeds, maneuvering and maintaining position. Together these systems will provide complete control and allow the vessel to operate safely.
Marmus approach to ecological friendly designs uses diesel-electric systems. This system allows for constant designed rotation speed which lowers fuel consumption and minimizes exhausted air pollution. Also with the use of multiple gen-sets that can be optimized to desired parameters such as fuel consumption, power and exhaust gas composition.
Environmental friendly
Bottom part of the hull will be painted with environmentally friendly paints that is non-toxic and copper free.
The use of hydraulic oils is a necessity, but we are aiming for the most eco-friendly products. So if available, the oil is based on renewable raw materials that are biodegradable recyclable, and largely harmless to the environment.
Vessel will be equipped with sewage treatment system, ballast water treatment system, oil and water treatment system. These not only reduce pollutants generated by the ship, but also reduce volume of tanks needed for storage and waste products that need to be handled at shore for disposal.
During ballasting the ballast water flows through proprietary filter. The filter removes larger organisms and particles and back flushes them overboard at the ballasting location. After passing the filter, the ballast water continues through the UV chambers on its way to the ballast tanks. The UV light kills or inactivates organisms, viruses and bacteria in the ballast water. During de-ballasting the filter is automatically bypassed, and the ballast water receives a second UV treatment during discharge as a safeguard to ensure compliance.
Addition to minimization the pollutants is the recycle of unused energy generated by diesel-generators in form of heat. The waste heat can be used in fresh water generators that can provide salt-free water for sanitary cabins, toilets and technical water. That not is this a ecological factor, but also an economical one because the fresh water tank can be of smaller volume and the gained space can be designed for larger cargo holds.
The use of diesel generator gives opportunity to use a better quality fuel that not only produce less pollution in form of sulphur oxides, but also give more energy output. To further increase cleanliness of exhaust gases the nitride oxides can by dealt with by using a urea injection system.
Accomodation
To insure that the crews daily life aboard the stern trawler is comfortable and productive the living quarters are of the best design and quality. All living and common spaces are sound proofed and have full climate control systems. The standard interiors and furnishings can be customized to customer requirements. Also to provide a suitable social environment common spaces are large and provide friendly entertainment.
Fishing
Trawling is the primary means of catching fish. Ship is equipped for trawling with the use of guide doors. The launch, pulling and handling of the fishing net is done by five winches. The net is transferred through the flush hatch to under deck storage then processed and packaged.
Fish processing & storage
Freezer-trawler is used for sorting, processing, freezing and cold-storage on-board the ship. Once caught, the fish are passed through a sorting and washing system. Next they are gutted, cleaned and filleted. The final step is to send the fish to the freezing process then packing and placed in cold storage.
Technical suport in design and building
The Marmus brand of fishing vessels are designed to fulfil various requirements from client. Marmus custom solutions can be designed to meet customer needs such as class, flag, conventions and other requirements. To make this possible all projects are supported by qualified engineers that can provide knowledge and experience during the design process and supervision during the build in the shipyard. The relationship our clients have with Marmus professionals during design and construction leads to a seamless process in the construction phase. Marmus hands on approach also facilitates the choosing of suppliers for crucial components with overall result being a smooth build experience without unnecessary delays.
