Ship purpose

Main purpose of ship is to deliver fresh fish to the shore. To accomplish such task the vessel is designed to perform two types of fishing and to store the caught fish in the specially designed tanks.

Secondary purpose is to limit the pollution generated during the lifetime of vessel. This is possible by use of numerous solutions in various places in the ship construction. The design of ship exterior comes by its ecological nature and fit perfectly in modern design.

Ship power supply and propulsion

Ship main power supply is based on diesel-electric system. Due to multiple diesel power generators the safety of the ship is increased. In case of one gen-set failure there are others that can work without any obstucles. Moreover in case of full blackout there is emergency generator that can supply power for the most important systems allowing ship to maintain maneuverability.

The ship movement is provided by electric engine that drives main shaft to propeller. The use of electric engine gives posibility to adjust the speed of rotation begining from 0. This help to adjust vessel speed of fishing during various sea states. Additional help are hydraulic adjusting propeller blades.

The propeller is situated in Kort nozzle which besides of improvement in propulsion efficiency, protects rotating blades from debrie, shallow waters and in some casses from entanglement of fishing net.

The additional possibility is to use bow thruster, which is retractable and has 360O movement range, as a propulsion during slow trawling or other situation when use of the main propeller is undesirable.

The use of diesel-electric system is considered as ecological approach. The constant, designed rotation speed and load gives opportunity to lower the consumption of fuel and exhausted air pollution. The cooperation of multiple gen-sets can be a optimization subject of desireable parameters, in example fuel consumption, power or exhaust gas composition.

Accomodation

The life on fishing vessel do not belongs to easiest one. To provide decent conditions the crew quarters are of best quality. All living spaces are soundproofed to comfortable level and have full climat control system, as for common spaces, as for individual quarters. The furnishing and outfitting can be customized to individual requests or can be made as one standard. To make life on ship more social the common spaces are suited for large number of people and can provide entertainment, for example cinema. For those who seek privacy the gym or sauna are also aviable.

Fishing

Fishing can be done by use of two methods. One of these is trawling. Ship is equipped for trawling with use of guiding doors. The catch is transferred to fish separator using submersible pump that is lunched by crane situated on aft gantry. The launch and pulling of fishing net is done by four winches. The net can be transfered through flash hatch to under deck storage where can be also maintained.

Other fishing method is purse seining. To perform such fishing method the ship is equiped with net bin on aft for launch and recovery of net and winches on the midship. The transfer of the catch is also done by using submersible pump but this one is located next to fishi separator on midship. The recover of the net is done by net hauler and net pipe on sterboard to the net bin where is laid using two cranes.

The fish separator that is located midship transfer life cargo to RSW tanks where it is cooled for time of voyage.

Fish storage

Equipped with 13 RSW tanks, designed to meet the most difficult customer requirements. The quality of the delivered fish as well as the catch and exploitation of the unit in the most ecological way possible are one of the many advantages of this unit.

RSW (Refrigerated Sea Water) used in the appropriate reservoir system allows you to maintain large catches without a significant reduction in quality until the time of transfer to shore. It involves fast cooling and storage of fish in chilled sea water. Tanks properly insulated from the hull are usually filled with 80% fish and 20% water.

Technical suport in design and building

The "Marmus" class ship, which is fishing vessel, is designed to fulfill various requirements from client.
